A bunch of DIY-ideas

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

"In crafting there are no mistakes just unique creations."

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

I didn't post anything DIY lately however it doesn't mean that I wasn't creative, I just didn't get the time to create a post about these.
Anyway, I don't want you to be left without any creativ idea so I collected some of my favourite DIY-projects for you. All these were posted in the last few years so to read the original post just click on the title. If you can't understand something and you feel you are stucked, feel free to comment below, write me an email or contact me on Twitter with your question.

1. P&P style made... a Johnny Depp inspired bracelet - A beautiful and simple beaded bracelet to give a little arm candy to your wrist. It looks nice and as you can see it, this bracelet is not just for girls.  ;)

2. P&P style made... a Safety Pin Bracelet - I don't think that Johnny Depp has worn a bracelet like this but it's still great. To make your own you only need a little piece of chain and a safety pin.

3. P&P style made... a Cut Out Tank Top - If you have an old T-shirt that you are not wearing anymore, this is the perfect way to give it a whole new life. You don't need to sew so it is super easy to make and you will have an amazing top which is perfect for summer.

4. P&P style made... a Hair Clip - You can add something unique to your ponytail this summer with this handmade hair clip that you can decorate after your fancy.

5. P&P style made... a Pompon - Pompons not only look great but also are on trend these days. They add a little extra to every outfit. You can decorate everything with them: your clothes, bags or even your room.

6. P&P style made... an Iphone case - An adorable case from felt, designed by my sister.  :)

I hope you've found something that you like and you will have fun by creating and wearing it.

Have a lovely weekend.  :)

E

„Life isn't aboout waiting for the storm to pass,

it's about learning to dance in the rain.”

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

In my last post I went in for the weather and the changes in it which inspired me to make a selection of items with weather elements. Below you can find some lovely clouds and rainbows printed on shirts or backpacks.

Do you have clothes that have weather-related pattern? Share them or let me know your favourites from the picture in the comment section below.  :)

Are you feeling the rain?

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

"Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet." (Bob Marley)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Some people are literally feeling the rain and other changes in weather elements. If for example the temperature, the air pressure or the humidity changes, a weather-sensitive person reacts with varying intensity to these changes. It means the weather can affect a person’s well-being. A few of the symptoms are the lack of concentration, tiredness, sleep disorders, dizziness, headache and migraine. They vary from person to person, one only feels tired, the other needs to take medicine to get through the day. It is said that the intensity of these symptoms increases with age or lower level of fitness. And at the same time, critics say that wheather sensitivity does not exist at all and the affected people just want to blame something else for their unhealthy lifestyle.

But why do some people respond to weather and others don’t? Somebody once told me, that sensitive people should feel lucky because it means that they are still connected with the nature. And it’s true, we are all a part of it.

Many animals can sense changes in weather in advance too. There are many articles that say, they response not only to weather changes but also to natural disasters like earthquakes.
Elephants for example can sense rain up to miles away. But if you are paying attention in your own garden or in the park, you will notice that bees are nowhere before rains which means that they probably feel it. If you are looking at the sky, take a moment and watch the birds. I learned it as a child that if they are flying low in the sky, it will probably rain.

The question stays. What can you do about weather sensitivity? Some suggest to drink a lot of water, others say to spend more time outdoors in all kinds of weather or they recommend to take hot and cold showers but different oils like lavender might help too.

Are you feeling the changes in the weather too? What do you do to lower the symptoms? Do you have a „secret” that helps? I’m looking forward to your comments. Have a lovely day.  :)

Lots of love,
E

Let's make a difference together - Save the Bees

🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝 🐝

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

If you are following me on Twitter, you might have seen my retweet from Burt’s Bees. They are running a campaign where every retweet or B-less tweet means 1000 seeds, 1000 wildflowers that are plant in your honor. If you haven’t taken part yet, please visit them and tweet or retweet. Their goal is to plant 1 billion wildflowers to #BringBackTheBees and the campaign is open up to 1.000.000 entries or until 6/30/2016.

Shortly I visited a blogger event where amongst others I met a lovely lady from Just Bee Drinks. I had the opportunity to taste their delicious drinks and I received a little goodie bag with a bee chocolate and some seeds in a cute envelope. If you live in the UK and you fill out the form on their website you can receive some wildflower seeds from them too and all these for free.

After these two companies I started to think about the bees. Is their situation really that bad? I typed „save the bees” in Google and numerous websites were the result. I was surprised, it is really that bad and somehow I didn’t realise it before. Maybe because I come from a little town where there are wildflowers in our yard and our cherry tree is full of buzzing in the spring.

But it’s true, there are less bees and without bees we are less too. If they disappear, about one-third of our food will disappear too. Our bees are dying out and reasons for this are the loss of their natural habitat and of course the chemicals used in the intensive agriculture.

You might ask, what you can do to save the bees. One of the easiest ways to help is to choose to grow flowers and plants in your garden that bees love. As I mentioned it before, you can ask for free seeds on the site of Just Bee Drinks or with just one click on the page of Burt’s Bees, you contribute that they plant more flowers. You also have the opportunity to make a donation, there are several charities whose aim is to save these little creatures.

Let’s get involved. Share with your friends.

I believe that if you make a little difference then together we can make a big difference.

Fluffy Pancakes

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

"I love you almost as much as I love pancakes."

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

A few days ago we celebrated Shrove Tuesday, which is known as Pancake Day in some countries. It has been celebrated by Britons for centuries and its exact date changes every year because it is 47 days before Easter Sunday.

There are two types of pancakes. They can be thin and light or round and fluffy. In many other languages there are even two different words for them.

Today I would like to share with you my recipe for a fluffy pancake that I made on Pancake Day, but they are also perfect for the upcoming Valentine's Day.

The ingredients are listed in the picture as well as below and if you choose the alternatives mentioned in the brackets, your pancakes will also be dairy free.

- 2 eggs
- 300 millilitres of milk (I use either coconut or rice milk)
- 25 grams melted butter (I always use vegetable margarine)
- 15 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon white sugar

Method:

- Whisk together the milk and egg, then add the melted butter or margarine.
- Add all the other ingredients into the bowl and mix them together. I did it by hand, but you can also use a blender.
- Heat a non-stick pan on a medium heat and spoon some batter into the pan.
- When the upper side of the pancake starts to blister, it is time to fry the second side.
- Continue frying until both sides are golden.

Serve with maple syrup

Enjoy yourself!  :)
