The magical moonstone

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

"And if you are ever feeling lonely, just look at the moon. Someone, somewhere, is looking at it too."

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Many cultures believe that moonstones bring good luck, some even say that they allow you to see the future. It is said that they make the subconscious mind aware, and sharpen the anticipation and the clairvoyance. Named after the moon, this gemstone has been very popular throughout the history. Because of its healing and calming properties, it has also been used for example as a treatment for insomnia or sleepwalking.
Some consider it a stone of love, and as the moon shows the way and enlightens the dark night, moonstones work the same way and are your best companion when you travel at night.
In addition to these properties, this gemstone is also a birthstone for June along with pearl and alexandrite.
Today, moonstone is a popular gem in many types of jewellery for both men and women. It appears in spiritual jewellery, gives any outfit a bohemian touch and is even available in engagement rings. A luminous beauty with classic colours that makes an elegant choice.
Moonstones come in different shapes, like oval and round, and are typically colourless, but they can occur in grey, white, yellow, green, pink and blue as well. Each gemstone is unique, the moonlike sheen makes it look dreamy and mysterious.
But if you are considering a moonstone for your engagement or wedding ring, please keep in mind that it only scores 6.0 to 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. This means that moonstones are very soft, fragile and easily scratched. If you plan to wear your ring every day, you need to be sure that it is well protected. The moonstone should be set so, that the metal completely surrounds the gemstone, so it is supported.

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." (Walt Disney)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

White gloves, red pants, yellow shoes. I don't think there is anyone who doesn't know who Mickey Mouse is. But you might not know that the mascot of The Walt Disney Company celebrated his 90th birthday this year. He was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Walt Disney Studios and his first apperance took place on 18 November 1928 in Steamboat Willie, which is considered as his birthday.
Mickey Mouse received 10 Oscar-nominations and with "Lend a Paw" (1941) he actually won the award. In addition, on his 50th anniversary, Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and like all major Disney characters, Mickey Mouse is not only copyrighted but also trademarked.
I collected some of my favourite Mickey Mouse pieces here for you, and I hope that you like it as much as I do.

Make your phone chic

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

"The way you dress is linked to your mood."

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Whether it is good or bad to always have our phones with us and be online most of the time, I could write a seperate article about that, and you can already find some on the blog, so you may know that despite having a blog, I try to spend as much time as possible offline and I would advise you to do that as well.

But back to the smart phones. Since they almost always look the same, I like to have phone cases. I have some of them and I like to adapt them to my mood and outfit. I have some that look serious and professional and one with teddy bears for example. But I've never had one of these wallet cases, although I've thought about buying one. For iPhones it is easier to find suitable ones. For other phones, however, you may have difficulty finding the perfect case.

This iPhone XR wallet case from Homelove looks very elegant, and is also very practical. It comes in various colours: black, gold, purple, red, mint green, navy blue and rose gold. I think it is even a perfect accessory to an evening dress.

It is designed with a kickstand feature and cutouts that give access to all ports. The PU leather is decorated with laser carved flowers. It has built-in card pockets and note holder, which is great, because you can put in your credit card, ID, travel card and some cash too, so you don't have to carry your wallet or small bag when leaving the house. It keeps all the essentials needed together. However, I still need a solution for my keys..
Other features of this case are an inside mirror, a practical butterfly hand strap and a magnetic closure.
What do you think about this wallet case? Do you have a similar one yourself?

As always, please feel free to leave a comment below and if you liked this case, you can check here, if it is also available for your phone and you can also find some other models: http://bit.ly/2SyEYZZ

Candy-coloured hairstyles

✯ Hello Shiny Stars! ✯

"The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!
(Coco Chanel)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

You might think that hair colouring is something new, something that is typical to today’s world, but archaeologists have found evidence that even in the ancient world, people were painting not only their bodies, but also their hair – using minerals, plants and insects. The methods have changed over the centuries, but hair dyeing is still one of the eternal beauty trends. I have a book of natural healing and beauty methods from the days of our grandparents, in which henna and various plant extracts are still included to intensify and modify the haircolour or to cover grey hair.

Hair colouring was inspired by punk and rock influences in the 1990s, but also other celebrities showed up with different, eye-catching hair colours. If you prefer not to dye your hair, but you want to try out a new hairstyle or a hair colour, wigs are the right choice for you. Even wigs have a very long history. Ancient cultures such as the Greeks, Romans or Egypt used wigs as a common fashion item, as both men and women usually had clean-shaven or fairly short hair.
Going back to the ‘70s, Frenchy (Didi Conn) from the famous movie Grease of 1978 accidentally dyes her hair in a bright pink. Continue with the ‘80s. German punk singer, Nina Hagen rocked many different hairstyles in her youth and also changed her hair colour constantly.
Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) from the schience-fiction action film, The Fifth Element of 1997 has a bright orange hair that many remember. Gwen Stefani opted for blue in 1998. Katy Perry has tried many hair colors, in 2011 she chose a bright pink, but also blue, purple, green, blonde and black are not unknown to her. And finally, Christina Aguilera, who had some colorful pink and purple curls in 2012 that adorned her blonde hair.

Everydaywigs is an online fashion brand, selling quality synthetic wigs, which are shipped directly from their factories free to worldwide. Their wigs are heat friendly, so you can style them after your fancy. If you want to try some bright colours, or just a new hairstyle, but you don’t want to change your hair, you can’t go wrong with a wig. I collected some lovely pieces from pink wigs to blue wigs below, I hope you like them.
