I love personalised items, whether it’s a mug, a bracelet or a necklace (you can find many of these e.g. on PersonalizedCart). Sometimes I prefer to have my nickname on them, sometimes I go for initials or I stick to my last name. Somehow I feel  they add a bit of personality to a simple thing, especially when I made it myself, like a bracelet of mine, with letter beads.

A few days ago I asked you in a pool on Twitter if you liked monogrammed, personalised items and it seems that 85% of voters are up for them. Yay!

In this post I'd like to show you a cup from PersonalizedCart. They make each item and engrave them by hand and the engraving is absolutely free, wich is just great. There are many product categories on their homepage, such as doormats, wine glasses or name necklaces and you can even look for gifts for him, for her, and for baby so it is absolutely easy to find something for a specific occasion.

 

The Yeti cups come with free engraving. They are available in 5 different colours. I went for the classic black, thinking that white could be slightly dirty. It is made of strong stainless steel with a heavy lid. The cup itself is very large with its almost 20 cm height. It weights about 0,4 kg and holds almost 1 liter. That’s why it seems a bit strange in my small hand, but I had to choose it because I was really amazed and skeptical about the facts that were listed under  the product. It states that it keeps drinks cold for at least 24 hours, and hot for at least 12 hours. Although there is a difference on the website, if you choose a cup with a different design, the specified insulation will, for example, be up to 12 hours. Whatever, I was really curious, if that could be true. And it can. The double-wall vacuum insulation makes it possible to keep drinks cold or hot.

I put hot tea in the cup and after 8 hours it was still very warm and after 12 hours it was lukewarm. I also filled it with ice to test it and 2-3 hours later, the entire ice was still intact. 7 hours later, it was already melting, but half of the ice was still there.

In addition, it has a no sweat design, that provides a secure grip and keeps fingers dry. With hot tea I didn't feel any heat, the ice cooled the cup but only slightly.

Overall, I can say, that this is a great cup, that keeps ice water cold and tea hot for a long time. Although it is too big for a small hand, it fits into the cup holder in the car as the bottom of the cup is smaller. Many would say, that it is a fake, but even if it is, it does its job really well. However the lid that comes with the mug is not watertight and I wish it had come with a closing lid. And don’t forget the free engraving, that  makes your cup unique.
